Autumn Arrives.

Autumn has arrived in Toronto. Over the course of the last month, our students have traded in their shorts and T-shirts for warmer garb as the temperature has begun to drop and the days grow shorter. That said, there's still so much to see and do, in and around the city.

Upon arriving in Toronto for the first time, many newcomers marvel at the amount of green space that our city has to offer. This time of year however, that green space is transformed into a veritable kaleidoscope of colours; our trees shed their leaves, but in the process, transform from green to yellow to red to purple to orange. Our city is rarely more beautiful than when the leaves are changing. Not to miss the opportunity, many of our students have been walking, picnicking, and photographing their way through the city and surrounding countryside. With hot chocolate in hand, this is a truly joyful time of year.

Join us in welcoming a new season and experience the natural beauty that is Canada in the fall

Getting There With The University Pathway Program

Our Toronto & Vancouver locations run the University Success (Pathway) program, which specializes in 12-48 week Super-Intensive Courses concentrating on English for Academic Purposes (EAP). Upon successful completion of the course, students meet the entry requirements of our partner post-secondary institutions and have no need to take an alternative entry exam (Like TOEFL or IELTS). Our partnership gives students an opportunity to study all across Canada from as far west as Vancouver Island University to The University of Prince Edward Island on the East Coast.

The program develops all skills from writing and speaking to vocabulary, specifically by learning in context and developing error awareness & correction. With these new skills and academic familiarity upon completion, students can confidently continue to study towards a certificate, undergraduate degree or post-graduate qualifications in one of a variety of academic areas.

Turkey, all the trimmings, food from everywhere and... pass me the Alka-Seltzer

It was the day of food! On ‘Thanksgiving Friday’ everyone in every class was talking about the different types of food that they had prepared and would share in the pot luck at lunch time. At 12:40 the table was ready, beautifully decorated and full of all kinds of colours, textures and smells. After saying goodbye at a teary graduation the moment everyone was waiting for finally arrived and everyone grabbed a plate and began to fill their mouths. All types of foods and hybrid dishes were devoured and the pumpkin pie ran out so fast we thought there was a hole under the table. One student from Turkey prepared a whole roast turkey (quite appropriate) and a pizza was eaten in literally no more than a few seconds. I think that we can say with complete confidence that the Thanksgiving potluck was a success and a great way to learn about Canadian thanksgiving and all of each others’ cultures.
