It May be the best May In Vancouver ever…..

There’s nothing like a May afternoon in Canada, especially when there’s playoff hockey. Not only is Vancouver an excellent location to learn English, surround yourself with Nature and enjoy the vibrant Canadian culture. It also boasts NHL’s best Ice Hockey team in 2011 (The Vancouver Canucks). This year the Canucks have reached the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1994 and hockey-fever is alive in Vancouver. Our students and staff have celebrated with ‘Canuck’s-Day’ where everybody wore their Canucks gear and went to watch the team WIN afterwards…we’ll be cheering them on for the next few weeks all the way to winning the cup, Go Canucks Go!!!!

The Sun Run That Was Some Run!!!

Spring started in great style here in Vancouver! We still had tons of snow falling in the mountains, warm afternoons (most of the time Laughing) and most importantly we had the annual ‘Vancouver Sun Run’ on April 19th. Almost 50,000 people ran, walked or crawled this 10km event which circumnavigates the City of Vancouver, including Stanley Park and English Bay. The streets were packed and amongst the thousands of runners were a strong team of staff and students from Eurocentres Vancouver. The event raised nearly $2 million for charity and gave our students a chance to exercise, learn English in a unique setting and really get to know life as a Vancouverite. There are so many other outdoor opportunities here in Vancouver, so next time you’re thinking of studying English and staying healthy, come and join us at Eurocentres Canada.

High Park Toronto- May 9, 2011

The Cherry Blossoms have bloomed at Toronto’s High Park! Our students took an early look on Friday, May 6th despite some showers. The picturesque trails take 20-45 minutes to walk and one can visit the zoo or stop by the Grenadier Café for a snack afterwards. This is the best time of year to check out the trees but also the most crowded! The best way to get to the park would be by public transportation as a parking spot could take hours to find. Spring has finally arrived in Toronto!
