The year is winding up, and the drop in temperatures certainly shows that winter is on it’s way. We already have a dusting of snow on the mountains here in Vancouver, and skiers and snowboarders are excited to see the beginning of the season. Also, the Student Christmas Party, always one of our most exciting and fun-filled events, is only three weeks away! Even with the leaves falling from the trees, the darker days and the cooler temperatures, there’s a warm happy feeling in the school. Adding to this, we currently have two Hope for Youth – Study in Canada Project students at our school, and recently said goodbye to our first Hope for Youth – Study in Canada Project student, who spent an amazing four weeks with us. Hope for Youth is a joint scholarship program between Languages Canada and the Japanese Consulate in which Japanese students who were displaced by the March 2011 earthquake are given the opportunity to study in Vancouver or Toronto, with air fare, tuition and homestay provided for by both sponsors in Japan and Languages Canada member schools, of which Eurocentres Canada is a proud participant. Happy Autumn, everyone!!
